Inspiration. Recently I have been interested in etymology and to inspire comes from Old French and it means ‘to fill mind and heart with grace’. Sources of inspiration are everywhere, inside and out, in quotes, poems, images, movies, books, wise friends. The list goes on and on. Our challenge is that with our busy lives, we don’t pause and take a deep breath, we simply race from task to task in search of being highly productive, effective or efficient. This used to be my life where there was no space to let the words and images truly permeate the surface and speak to my soul.
My first post of 2023 was about the impact of the lay-offs at Salesforce, a company that I worked for 15 years. I shared some words of wisdom by Andrew W. Barr, but forgot to mention where I found the quote. Like many of you, I have my preferred podcasts and Turning Towards Life is one of them. Justin Wise and Lizzie Winn meet every Sunday at 9 am to be in conversation about a topic, and that passage was their inspiration some months back.
These podcasts have been accompanying me for some years now. Not only because Justin and Lizzie are warm and welcoming people themselves, but they are also part of Thirdspace where I certified as an Integral Development Coach. Their 30 min episodes are perfect running companions as I trot down the streets of London.
So where do you get inspiration from and how are you sharing it? I am certain there is a lot of wisdom that the world would benefit from.
